A full-service national boutique accounting firm, based in North Jersey, ASSESSOR, was formed thanks to one person’s natural talent and desire to help those in the community. As a company, we’re dedicated to helping our clients with their taxes and saving money wherever possible. Where did we get our start?

The Founder’s natural love of numbers and interest in accounting began when she was only 16 years old when she was promoted from cashier to a bookkeeper position at her local supermarket. A few years later, in 2004, simultaneously, while attending college, she started her professional career as a assistant tax professional out of a very busy New York City Tax Preparation Office. After earning her bachelors in business administration with a concentration in accounting from Baruch College, Loyda sold everything she owned in order to purchase her first business, a Tax Preparation Franchise. From 2008 to 2019 she operated under the Franchise name ATAX out of her Elmwood Park, NJ location.

Throughout the years, Loyda has helped numerous clients from all 50 states. She has worked with many accounting firms, including one of the Big 4 accounting firms (Pricewaterhousecooper, LLP). In addition to receiving multiple awards, she received credentials, including the Enrolled Agent License, which is the highest credential the IRS awards.

At this point, it was clear that the community Loyda was working with was in need of extra help. Filing taxes is a difficult task at best, whether you’re a business owner or an individual. As laws change and situations shift, more and more people were asking for help with all kinds of financial matters. When it comes to taxes, it was obvious that people needed a real expert on their side, to guide them through the process. For this reason it was decided that Assessor would be set up in order to serve the community better. With our services, you’ll be able to properly take control of your finances.
